Tis the night before the first camping trip of the year. This was a last minute planned trip but the weekend temps of 70 degrees was too good to pass up. This trip is 3 weeks before the first planned trip of the year on opening weekend of ND state parks camping.
This camping trip has more meaning than just being the first trip of the season it is also the last camping trip we get to take Megan’s kid Aeryn camping before she moves to Canada. She is the only person I have met who loves to go camping more than me. She loves it so much last year we bought her an indoor play tent and she sleeps in it most nights. We took her to the sports show many weeks back and every single camper we walked in she took off her shoes and took her baby and had to try out every single bed. She had a blast.
This is my Core 12 Person Instant Cabin Tent. This is my largest tent and I only got to use it 1 time last year. There was a pretty bad rain and wind storm and this tent withstand all of that. I will make a time lapse of me setting this tent and will see if it goes up quicker than my Rei kingdom 8 tent. The box claims under 5 minutes since it’s an instant up.
I have been burned a few times by bad camping gear that didn’t last more than 1 season of camping. I bought a lot of new camping gear this summer and I will be reviewing and posting on Facebook and my blog about the gear.
Here is to the start of the happy times enjoying the great outdoors in North Dakota. Going to be hard falling asleep tonight just under 19 hours and the dark times are over. Sophie is so excited.
